Mr. Terry Clinton “T.C.” Simpson, Jr., 30, of Ararat, passed away Thursday afternoon, May 3, 2018, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. T.C. was born October 9, 1987, in Surry County, to Terry Clinton Simpson, Sr. and Donna Tucker Simpson Marion. He graduated from Surry Central High School in 2006, and he graduated from NASCAR Technical Institute in 2009 with honors. Following his education, T.C. served our country in the United States Army and Army Reserves for more than seven years. T.C. was employed as a lineman at Pike Electric, Inc. and was a member of Salem Fork Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Erin Brown Simpson of the home; a daughter, Emerson Simpson of the home; a baby on-the-way (due October), Baby Simp; his parents, Donna and Rex Marion of Dobson and Terry and Tammy Simpson of Mount Airy; his sisters and brothers, Tara and Chris Short of Pinnacle, and Kristi and Jason Massey, T.J. Holder, and Josh and Kimberly Holder, all of Mount Airy; his grandparents, Louise Riggs Tucker, Pat Simpson, and the Rev. Butch and Sandra Holder, all of Mount Airy; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Timothy and Jennifer Brown of State Road; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Hannah and Drew Bowden of Glade Valley; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and special friends, Tommy Adams and family, Cory Coe and family, and The Pike Electric Crew. T.C. was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sally Atkins Holder, Hobert Clinton Simpson, and the Rev. Jimmy Ray Tucker. A service of worship and celebration of T.C.’s life will be held Thursday, May 10, 2018, at 2:00 PM at Salem Fork Baptist Church, 555 Twin Oaks Road, Elkin. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Sean Joplin, and military honors will be conducted by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard. A memorial gathering will be held following the service at the home of Donna and Rex Marion, 133 Stratford Place, Dobson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Simpson Fund, c/o State Employees’ Credit Union, 805 South Franklin Road, Mount Airy, NC 27030, to establish educational funds for his children.
