Mrs. Thelma Mae Snow Barber Bondurant, 87, of Lowgap, passed away Monday, June 27, 2016, at the Woltz Hospice Home. She was born in Coalwood, WV on April 28, 1929, to the late Ernest and Pearl Bedwell Snow. Mrs. Bondurant was a retired Dietary Aid from Surry Community Nursing Center, and was a member of Maple Grove United Methodist Church. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Monroe Chaney, Lisa and Jimmy Reece; grandchildren and spouse, Angie and Ralph Bowman, Charlie Chaney and fiancée Deborah Hawks, Wesley Chaney and fiancée Chrissy Ridout; six great grandchildren; one great great grandchild. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bondurant was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph Barber; her second husband, Glenn Bondurant; an infant son, Ralph Edward Barber; a brother, Ernest R. Snow, Jr. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 30, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dennis “Bud” Cameron officiating. Burial will follow in the Snow Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Northern Hospital of Surry County and the staff of the Woltz Hospice Home for the love and care given to Thelma during her illness.
