Thelma Jane Carns

Mrs. Thelma Jane Carns, age 78, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at her home.  She was born on May 21, 1940 to the late Jasper Newton and Elizabeth Chaney Pack.  She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will surely be missed by all who knew her.  Left to cherish her memories are her husband Charles Carns Sr. of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Charles Carns Jr. and wife Dawn; grandchildren,  Sarah Morris and husband Joseph, Kasey Carns and Hannah Carns, sisters and brothers-in-law, Essie and Andrew Johnson, Bess and Ray Wilson; brother and sister-in-law, Charlie and Brenda Pack .  In addition to her parents Mrs. Carns was preceded in death by a son, James Newton Carns; brothers, Bill and Roscoe and Alfred Pack, sisters Yvonne Tilley and Effie Jackson.  A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 18, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Mount Airy Church of God with services conducted by Rev. Charles Powers and Rev. Larry May.  Burial will follow in The Mountain View Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 until time for the service at the church.
