Thelma Moser Creed

Mrs. Thelma Moser Creed, 94, of 2099 Red Brush Road, Mount Airy, widow of Mr. Fermon Creed, passed away Monday, April 1, 2013, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born October 23, 1918, in Surry County, to the late James Dallas and Effie Haymore Moser. She was the oldest member of Union Hill Friends Meeting and retired from Spencer's Inc. She is survived by a daughter, Kay Creed of Mount Airy; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Hilton and Barbara Creed of Mount Airy, Buddy and Lynda Creed of Dunn, and Ronald Creed of Mount Airy; four grandchildren and their spouses, Melessa and Tim Hawks of Dobson, Sharon and Chad Marion of Mount Airy, Chris and Rebecca Creed of Jacksonville, FL, and Clint and Amy Creed of Coats, NC; eight great-grandchildren, Logan and Lucas Hawks of Dobson, Karlie and Evan Marion of Mount Airy, Gray and Alice Creed of Jacksonville, FL, and Savannah and Seth Creed of Coats, NC; a "special great niece," Camille Johnson of Mount Airy; a sister, Georgia Johnson of Mount Airy; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne and Sally Moser of Mount Airy, J.D. Moser of Kernersville, and Loraine Moser of Bladenboro; several "special" nieces and nephews; and other sisters-in-law, Pearl Branscombe of Aberdeen and Betty Creed of Pine Hurst. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Creed was preceded in death by two brothers, Tom Moser and Roscoe Moser. The funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, April 4, 2013, at Union Hill Friends Meeting. The services will be conducted by the Rev. Ronald Thomas, the Rev. Linda Greene, the Rev. Terry Johnson, and the Rev. Nate Watts. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
