Miss Thelma Irene Danley, 91, of Mocksville, passed away Monday, May 30, 2011, at Davie County Hospital. She was born September 15, 1919, in Surry County, to the late John Wesley and Susan Watson Danley. Mrs. Danley was a homemaker, a caregiver, and of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her nieces, Mary Thompson of Mocksville, Brenda Tate of Mount Airy, Faye Danley of Winston-Salem, and Bonnie Collins and Ann Collins, both of Mount Airy; her nephews, Tony, Terry, Russell, Dennis, and Charlie Danley; and a sister, Gladys Danley. In addition to her parents, Miss Danley was preceded in death by three sisters, Ida, Etta and Malley Danley; and three brothers, Hurbert, Ellis, and Floyd Danley. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at 3:00 PM at Community Church, with the Rev. Ray Hutson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mary Thompson, 164 South Angell Road, Mocksville, NC 27028 to assist the family with the funeral expenses. Moody-Davis Funeral Home is serving the Danley family.
