Thelma Tucker

Mrs. Thelma Louise Riggs Tucker, age 79, of Dobson, NC passed away on Friday, May 28, 2021, at Twelve Oaks in Mt. Airy.  She was born in Surry County on October 3, 1941, to the late Brady Trumble Riggs and to Lila Snow Riggs.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Jimmie Ray Tucker; grandson T.C. Simpson, Jr.; sisters, Dorothy Casey, Lorene Marion, Irene Collins; brothers, Elmer Riggs, Delmer Riggs, Junior Riggs.  She was retired form Kentucky Derby Hosiery.  She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.  Surviving is her three daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and Michael Tate, Donna and Rex Marion, Kim and Joseph Diaz; beloved nephew, Jeff Freeman; grandchildren, Joshua Tate, Tabitha Jones, Andrew Mayes, Ryan Mayes, Tyler Mayes; step-grandchildren,  Tara Marion Short, Kristi Marion Massey, Katelyn Diaz, Tripp Diaz; great-grandchildren, Abigail Hicks, Nolan Jones, Emerson Simpson, Mackenzie Grace Tate, Blakely Mayes, T.C. Simpson, III, Walker Mayes; step-great-grandchildren,  Keaton Massey, Max Short, Georgia Short; sister Ellen Freeman; brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Jesse Riggs.  A private service will be held by her family.  Moody-Davis Funeral is serving the Tucker family.  The family has requested in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030, or to the donor’s choice.
