Mrs. Theo Nunn White, 84, of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday morning, August 21, 2010, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. White was born August 26, 1925, in Surry County, daughter of the late Roy and Maggie Wood Nunn. She retired from Spencer's Inc. after many years of service and was a member of Mount Airy Church of God. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Weldon George White of the home; four daughters and sons-in-law, Sue and Cary Stokley of Virginia Beach, VA, Sandra Thompson and Wayne Sanderlin of Ararat, Annette and Carlton Boyce of Elizabeth City, and Tammy and Chris Simmons of Mount Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Pansy White of Pilot Mountain; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; a twin sister, Cleo Brim of Mount Airy; a brother, Bobby Nunn of High Point; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. White was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Dale White; a sister, Betty Adams; and a brother, Olin Nunn. The funeral service will be held Monday, August 23, 2010, at 11:00 AM at Mount Airy Church of God, with the Rev. Charles Powers officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, where her body will remain until carried to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
