Theresa Gay Edwards

Our precious mama, Theresa Gay Combs Edwards, went home to be with our Lord Saturday, February 2, 2019.  She was born in Surry County, NC September 6, 1950 to the late Carlie and Dorsie Easter Combs.  Theresa owned and operated 89 Grocery and Produce for over 35 years.  She was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church, attending as much as her health permitted.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be missed by everyone that knew her.  Theresa is survived by her daughter, Angie Edwards; sons and daughter-in-law, Duane Edwards, and Anthony and Lindsay Edwards; step son, Glenn Edwards, Jr.; step daughter, Katie Roberts and husband, Dave; grandchildren, Mindy Jackson and husband Daniel, Heather Horton, Benji Edwards, Aiden Edwards and Ezra Edwards; step-grandchildren, Kristan Akers and husband Terry, Jessica Reece, Ashley Edwards, Terry Morris; three great-grandchildren; eight step great-grandchildren, a sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl and Bobby Meadows; a brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Jenny Combs; a niece, Amber Easter and her daughter Marley.  In addition to her parents, Theresa was preceded in death by her first husband, Glade Benjamin Edwards; her second husband Glenn Woodrow Edwards; a son Ricky Lane Edwards; a grandson Brandon Lee Horton; a daughter-in-law, Tonya Holloway Edwards and a step grandson Glenn Woodrow Edwards, II.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy with Rev. Randy Edwards officiating.  Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy Monday, February 4, 2019 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.  Flowers would be appreciated, but to honor Theresa’s wishes, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Baptist Church, Building Fund, 201 Faith Baptist Church Rd., Mt.
