Theresa Bowman Stanley

Mrs. Theresa Bowman Stanley, 57, of Ararat, VA, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2011. Mrs. Stanley was born January 1, 1954, in Patrick County, VA, to the late Perry and Mary Alice Harold Bowman. She was an in-home sitter and attended Doe Run Baptist Church. Mrs. Stanley is survived by four sisters and a brother-in-law, Etta Stanley and Effie Sawyers, both of Ararat, VA, Edith and Arville Sawyers of High Point, and Elaine Draughn of Mount Airy; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Malcom and Mary Bowman and Clyde and Angelena Bowman, all of Ararat, VA, and Joe Bill and Maxine Bowman of Gastonia; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stanley was preceded in death by her husband, Darryl Wayman Stanley; and two brothers, Glen and Marvin Bowman. The funeral service will be held Friday, March 18, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Doe Run Baptist Church, with the Rev. Terry Vaughan and the Rev. Matt Goins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Doe Run Baptist Church. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
