Thomas Andrew Anthony

Mr. Thomas Andrew Anthony, age 78 of Mt. Airy, passed away Tuesday, July 09, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Anthony was born in Surry County on August 12, 1934 to the late DeWhitt Anthony and Nora Collins Anthony O'Neal. He was retired from Proctor Silex and was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church. He served our country in the United States Army. Surviving are his devoted wife, Shelby Holder Anthony of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Deanne and Gerald Brewer of Shoals; a son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Pamela Anthony of Mt. Airy; eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; a brother, Louis Anthony of Lowgap. In addition to his parents, Mr. Anthony was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Anthony; two sisters, Beulah Moser and Ruth Collins. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 12, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Highland Park Baptist Church with Dr. Darrell Tate and Rev. Grover Holder officiating. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Highland Park Baptist Church. Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy is serving the family.
