Thomas Carter

Mr. Thomas Franklin Carter, age 74 of Stuart, and formerly of Ararat, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2006 at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. He was born in Patrick County on March 17, 1932 to the late Lester and Sally Hatcher Carter. In addition to his parents, Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his wife, Pearlie Green Carter, two sisters, Elizabeth Smith and Lucille Carter Smith; and four brothers, Roosevelt, Joe Bill, robert and Reid Carter. He was a member of Triumphant Pentecostal Holiness Church. Mr. Carter is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Bonita and Jerome Temoney of Ararat; one son and daughter-in-law, Thomas McDaniel and Brenda Carter of Cana; five grandchildren; one brother, Arthur Carter of Ararat; two sisters, Ellen Hylton of Stuart and Rowena Hairston of Ararat.
Funeral services for Mr. Carter will be held Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Bishop Tony Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the Clark Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the funeral home.
