Thomas Leonard Dalton

Mr. Thomas Leonard Dalton, age 70 of Lowgap, passed away Monday morning March 26, 2018 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born in Carroll County, VA on January 12, 1948 to the late William Roosevelt and Locke Odessa Nester Dalton. Mr. Dalton was a self-employed brick mason and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He proudly served our country in the United States Army. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Helen Louise Puckett Dalton of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Stacee Dalton of Mocksville; a son-in-law, Dale Jordan of Union Grove; grandchildren, Makenzie Dalton, Dalton Jordan, Skylar Dalton, Walker Jordan, and Whitnee Wyrick; sisters, Lorna Bowman of Dublin, VA, Mamie Smith, of Abington, VA, and Lois Wilde of Hillsville, VA; brothers and sister-in-law, Avis and Bonnie Dalton of Mount Airy, Maynard Dalton of Sparta, Cecil Dalton of Johnson City, TN, Glenn Dalton and Ricky Dalton both of Bristol, TN.; several nieces and nephews; his mother-in-law, Pauline Puckett; and two special family care-givers, Shelby Canter and Eva Smith. In addition to his parents, Mr. Dalton was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Gail Dalton Jordan; two sisters, Pauline Brinkley and Anna Lee Goad; and four brothers, Garnie, William, Wiley and Bob Dalton. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday March 29, 2018 at Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. Grant Atkins and Rev. Rusty Reed officiating with full military honors conducted by VFW Memorial Honor Guard Post 2019 of Mt. Airy and Post 9436 of Pilot Mountain. The family will receive friends after the service at Antioch Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030 or to Antioch Baptist Church, 137 Antioch Ave., Mount Airy, NC 27030.
