Thomas Gregory

Mr. Thomas Donald Gregory, age 87 of Stuart, passed away Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.  He was born in Patrick County on February 25, 1934 to the late Edward Duncan Gregory and Mary Alice Massey Gregory.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Gregory was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Audrey Fain Gregory; six brothers, Columbus, Ralph, Jesse, James, Paul and Guy Gregory; and five sisters, Kathleen Gunter, Lessie Thomason, Myrtle Gregory, Eleanor Gunter and Daisy Byrd.  He had been a Deputy Sheriff with the Patrick County Sheriff’s Department.  He loved to hunt, especially rabbits, play Rook and Checkers; watch NASCAR races, and read western stories.  He adored his grandkids and great-grandkids, and loved spending time with them.            Mr. Gregory is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Harold and Donna Gregory, David and Melissa Gregory, all of Stuart; six grandchildren, Lou Arden Vernon (Lee), Alice Pendergrass (Stephen), Collin Gregory, Tanya Gregory, Kristin Gregory, Dustin Gregory; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.           A graveside service for Mr. Gregory will be held Saturday, July 3, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Patrick Memorial Gardens with Pastor Keith Vernon officiating.  He will lie in state Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart.  If desired, memorials may be made to PAWS (Patrick Animal Welfare Society), P.O.
