Thomas Payne

Mr. Thomas Payne, age 89, of Mount Airy passed away Monday, June 11, 2018 at his residence. He was born March 31, 1929 in Patrick County, Virginia to the late Jim and Minnie Lou Lankford Payne. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jerlean Margie Boles Payne and his brothers, James Payne, Bob Payne, John Payne and Beauford Payne Mr. Payne was owner and operator of Fairview Grocery and a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Helen Faye and Mickey Bunton and Ruth and Charles Busick; sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Elaine Payne and Dennis and Tammy Payne; nine grandchildren, Tommy Payne, Cheryl Dance, Daniel Payne, Josh Payne, Benji Payne, Shane Bunton, Melissa Starnes, Terry Busick and Jason Busick; eleven great-grandchildren, Haley Payne, Matthew Dance, Nathan Dance, Tiffany Payne, Miles Payne, Natalie Payne, Mackenzie Starnes, Aiden Perkey, Ciary Oakley, Justin Busick, Jacee Busick; a special nephew Herman “Buck” Boles; special caregivers, Greg and Sharon Jenkins. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Moody –Davis Funeral Service in Dobson from 6-8 PM.  The service will be Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at 2 PM in the Moody-Davis Chapel with Reverend Mark Reece and Wayne Payne officiating. Interment will follow in the Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
