Mr. Thomas Ray Prim, 46, of 450 Watson Road, Mount Airy, passed away Monday morning, July 5, 2010, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mr. Prim was born July 4, 1964, in Surry County, to R.C. Prim and the late Patricia Ann Thomas Prim. Thomas was formerly employed at L.S. Starrett Company and a member of Westside Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Ford Prim of the home; his father, R.C. Prim of Mount Airy; a sister, Rebecca Ann Prim of Mount Airy; a niece, Misty Prim of Mount Airy; a great nephew, Austin Branch of Mount Airy; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Pete and Faye Ford of Boone; an adopted grandmother, Frances Mosley of Mount Airy; several special aunts and an uncle, Irene and Harvey Scott of Talladega, AL, Coleen Henry of Statesville, Christina Bowman of Archdale, and Polly Byrd of Mount Airy; and three special buddies, Tony, Donnie, and Jerry. In addition to his mother, Mr. Prim was preceded in death by an infant sister, Teresa Prim; and four special uncles, Jack Henry, John Bowman, Bill Prim, and E.J. Prim. A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 8, 2010, at 3:00 PM at Westside Baptist Church, with the Rev. Steve Johnson and the Rev. Terry Watson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Forsyth Regional Cancer Center, ATTN: Sharon Murphy, 3333 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or Relay For Life-Surry County Chapter, c/o American Cancer Society, 4-A Oak Branch Drive, Greensboro, NC 27407. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
