Thomas Edward Sparger

Mr. Thomas Edward Sparger, 80, of Mt. Airy passed away Thursday, April 14, 2022, at Northern Regional Hospital in Mt. Airy.  He was born in Surry County on December 5, 1941, to the late Ralph and Magdalene Spargo Sparger.  He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church.  Mr. Sparger proudly served our country in the United States Army where he was in the 82 Airborne.  He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Westmoreland Sparger; a son and daughter-in-law, Derek and Lyn Sparger; grandchildren, David Sparger, Amber and Luke Bingman; many nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Sparger was preceded in death by sisters, Joann Lynch, and Bonnie Pitt; a brother, Steve Sparger.  The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Northern ER, the Surry EMS, and the Rescue Squad for their love and compassion.  There will not be any formal services at this time.  Moody Funeral Home in Mt.
