Thomas Benton Terrell

Mr. Thomas Benton Terrell, 94, of 940 Sheep Farm Road, Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2007, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mr. Terrell was born November 17, 1912, in Surry County, to the late James Samuel and Martha Frances Gwyn Terrell. He worked in the shipping department at Spencer's Inc. for more than 30 years and was a member of Dover Baptist Church. He is survived by two daughters, Maureen Simpson of Dobson and Anita Bryant of Mount Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Benton "Pete" and Judy Terrell of Mount Airy; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a great great grandchild; and a special friend, Mary Ruth Hamm of Mount Airy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Terrell was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Hester Neal Terrell; six sisters; and three brothers. The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 20, 2007, at 3:30 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by the Rev. J. Cecil Hill and the Rev. Ben Simmons. Burial will follow in the Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
