Mr. Thomas “Tommy” Garland Easter, 74, of Cana, VA, passed away at Blue Ridge Therapy Connection, Saturday, January 9, 2021. He was born in Carroll County, VA, November 30, 1946, to the late Thomas Roy and Beola Jones Easter. Mr. Easter bravely served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a truck driver for much of his career, although he worked in various endeavors. Mr. Easter seemed to never meet a stranger and had a gift for talking to anyone. He is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Elizabeth Easter, and Travis and Leann Easter; grandchildren and spouses, Maggie Easter, Molly Easter, Kayla and Ross Hiatt, and Tyler and Nicole Easter; a great granddaughter, Kara Hiatt, a sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Pompilio Perez; and a special friend, Stevie DePrisco. In addition to his parents, Mr. Easter was preceded in death by a sister, Anita Jones. A graveside memorial service will be held at the Jones Fleming Cemetery, Apple Ridge Rd., Cana, at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 20, 2021. There will not be any formal visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Masonic Home for Children, 600 College St., Oxford, NC 27565 or the Hillsville VFW. Moody Funeral Home in Mt.
