Thomas Lee "Tommy" Puckett

Mr. Thomas Lee “Tommy” Puckett, age 82 of Ararat, VA, passed away peacefully on Sunday September 15, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC. He was born February 25, 1942, in Patrick County to the late Herman Roosevelt Puckett and Georgia Etta Collins Puckett. He was a long-time member of Doe Run Baptist Church and retired from the trucking industry. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Amy Leigh Puckett-Lawson; grandchildren, Jordan and Summer Branson-Upchurch, and Ashton Lawson; sisters and a brother-in-law, Betty Jean Patterson, Linda Puckett, and Gaynell and Donald Thomas; his special fur baby Buddy “Boo Boo”; and by several other family and friends. In addition to his parents, Mr. Puckett was preceded in death by two brothers, Taylor Owens Puckett and Herman Junior “Pete” Puckett. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday September 17, 2024, at 2:00pm in the Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy with Rev. Terry Vaughan officiating. Burial will follow in the Doe Run Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12:00 – 2:00pm at Moody Funeral Home. The Puckett family would like to thank Rev. Terry Vaughan and the Doe Run Baptist Church family for all of the love and support given to Tommy. In addition, the family would like to thank Dr. Kipreos, and the staff at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
