Timothy Lane Alderman

Mr. Timothy Lane Alderman, 41, of 443 Beacon Lane, Mount Airy, passed away Monday, September 28, 2009, at his home. Mr. Alderman was born April 22, 1968, in Surry County, to Imogene Farmer Alderman and the late Clifton Marshall. He was a diesel mechanic for Easter Transportation. Surviving are his wife, Mattie Sue East Alderman of the home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Holli Alderman of the home and Kari and Henry Brandt of Ararat; two grandchildren, Timothy James Brandt and Mattie Rayne Brandt, both of Ararat; his parents, Imogene and Buddy Gravely of Mount Airy; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Pam and Mark Heath, Darlene and Tim Snow, and Kathy Alderman, all of Mount Airy; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Larry and Lari Alderman of Mount Juliette, TN, and Mark Alderman of Mount Airy; several nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Denny "Chief" and Evelyn East of Ararat. In addition to his father, Mr. Alderman was preceded in death by a half-brother, James Edgar Marshall. The funeral service will be held Thursday, October 1, 2009, at 1:00 PM at New Beginning Baptist Church, with the Rev. Mike Martin and the Rev. Don Holyfield officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from noon until the time for the service at the church. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Moody Funeral Home to assist the family will the funeral expenses.
