Timothy Hart Sheflin, age 77 of Stuart VA and formerly of Canaseraga NY, passed away Sunday January 7, 2024 at his home.
He was born on December 19, 1946 in Rochester NY to the late Frances F. Sheflin and Virginia E. Sheflin (Hart).
Tim was a 1964 graduate of Dansville High School and then served in the US Navy on the USS Ticonderoga during the Vietnam War. After leaving the Navy he worked at Foster Wheeler Corp in Dansville, NY and then obtained a degree from Alfred State College. He went on to work for the New York State Department of Transportation for many years, where he eventually retired from.
Tim resided in Canaseraga, NY with his wife Carol and family for many years and was involved in various community groups and organizations, including the Canaseraga Volunteer Fire Corps and the Fawcett Post 1582 American Legion. In his spare time, he loved wood working, golfing and reading about US History, especially the Civil War. After his retirement Tim relocated to Stuart VA, where he continued his involvement with various veterans groups including the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard.
Tim was predeceased by his wife, Carol J Sheflin (Hoffman). He is survived by one son, Clifford A (Andrea) Smith of Patrick Springs, VA and two daughters, Elizabeth H. (Jackson) Sieglinger, of Severna Park, MD and Virginia H. Sheflin of Buffalo, NY. Two grandsons Elliot Maxwell Sieglinger and Miles Harrison Sieglinger. Two sisters, Shirley (Gary) Kreiley and Elaine Sheflin both of Dansville, NY and two brothers Ronald (Bernadette) Sheflin of Deatsville AL and Francis F. (Julie) Sheflin Jr. of Weymouth MA.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family sometime in the Spring of 2024. Interment will be at Kiehle Cemetery in Sparta NY and a celebration of life at the Fawcett Post 1582 American Legion in Canaseraga, NY.
