Tommy Henry Baker

Mr. Tommy Henry Baker, age 68 of Lowgap, husband of Carol Leigh Baker, passed away Friday, August 04, 2006 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mr. Baker was born in Wesley, Ark. on July 24, 1938 to Edgar and Elizabeth Hatfield Baker. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and was a retired Barber. Surviving are his wife, Carol Leigh Baker of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Steve Hawks and Vickie Guerry all of Lowgap; Sandy and Thom Brewer of Riverside, CA; and Laurie Baker of Dobson; a son and daughter-in-law, Tommy Baker, Jr. and Kristi of Lowgap; fifteen grandchildren; one great grandchild; and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Bessie and Vern Newlan of Hemet, CA and Lona Doss also of California. In addition to his parents, Mr. Baker was preceded in death by a sister, Hester Doss. Funeral services will be held at Monday August 7, 2006 at 11:00 AM at Mountain View Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Russell Parsons. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Moody Funeral Home is serving the Baker family.
