Tony Gray Holt, Sr

Mr. Tony Gray Holt, Sr., 63, of 136 Parable Lane, Mount Airy, passed away Friday morning, August 19, 2016, at his home. Mr. Holt was born December 20, 1952, in Surry County, the son of the late Rufus and Lillian Marie Hawks Holt. Tony retired as a route salesman from Snyder’s Lance after many years of service. He is survived by his wife, Cathy Walter Holt of the home; a daughter, Lauren Wright of Westfield; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Tony Gray “T.J.” Holt, Jr. and Mikal Holt of Winston-Salem and Kevin M. Holt of Dobson; five grandchildren; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Judy and Billy Goins, Nancy Smith, and Kay and David Puckett, all of Mount Airy; a brother, Rufus Holt, Jr. of Mount Airy; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Holt was preceded in death by an infant sister. A memorial service will be held Sunday, August 21, 2016, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with Brother Ed Smith officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
