Tony Gray Knott

Mr. Tony Gray Knott, age 74 of Mount Airy, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023, at Northern Regional Hospital in Mount Airy surrounded by his family.  Mr. Knott was born on May 25, 1949, in Surry County to the late John Wesley and Edith Louise Johnson  Knott.  Tony was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend.  He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.  He is survived by his daughter, Michele Knott; son and daughter-in-law, Gray Knott and Angie; grandchildren, Leslie Knott Simpson and Logan, Andrew Knott and Madison; great-granddaughter, Naomi Simpson; along with several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Knott was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lue Cromer Knott; and a brother, John Wayne Knott.  A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Flat Rock Baptist Church in Mount Airy with Pastor Rusty Reed and Reverend Frank Harmon officiating.  Interment will follow in the Indian Grove Family Cemetery in Mount Airy.  The family will receive friends on Friday, June 2, 2023, at Flat Rock Baptist Church 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
