Tony Gray Portis

Mr. Tony Gray Portis, 54, of 135 J.W. Branson Lane, Mount Airy, passed away Monday, January 4, 2010, at the East Liverpool City Hospital in East Liverpool, OH. He was born October 3, 1955, in Surry County, to Thomas Christopher and Patsy Gray Shambley Portis. He was a truck driver for Sterling Trucking Company and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are his fiancee, Donna Garaventa Davis of the home; two stepsons, John Jacob Marion and Justin Lee Marion, both of the home; his parents, Thomas Christopher "Tom" Portis and Patsy Gray Shambley Portis of Mount Airy; and a sister and brother-in-law, Lisa Portis Tickle and James of Mount Airy. The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 9, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. R.L. McDaniel and the Rev. Billy Watson officiating. Burial will follow in the Portis Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
