Tony Ray Spencer

Mr. Tony Ray Spencer, 54, of 104 Yosemite Lane, Mount Airy, passed away early Sunday morning, October 9, 2011, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mr. Spencer was born January 3, 1957, in Forsyth County, one of four children born to Raymond Lafayette Spencer and Pearl Howlett Spencer Pyles. He worked in the maintenance department at Twelve Oaks Assisted Living and was a member of Fancy Gap Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Monica Edwards Spencer of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Brian Busick of Mount Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Cory and Jessie Spencer of Mount Airy; a granddaughter, Courtney Ann Busick of Mount Airy; a grandson, Nathaniel Clay Busick of Mount Airy; his mother, Pearl Howlett Spencer Pyles of Mount Airy; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Susie and Donnie Wilson and Lisa and Stephen Jeffreys, all of Mount Airy, and Robin and Billy McDowell of Salisbury; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Spencer was preceded in death by a granddaughter, McKenzie Reed Busick; and his father, Raymond Lafayette Spencer. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Dwight Sechrist officiating. Burial will follow in the Midkiff Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
