Tracey Lynn Midkiff

Miss Tracey Lynn Midkiff, 41, of 343 Woodruff Street, Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2010, at her home. She was born March 17, 1968, in Surry County, to Lonnie Elmen and Wanda Jean Haynes Midkiff. She was of the Baptist Faith and was sent to her family from above to show them the true meaning of love. Surviving are her parents, Lonnie Elmen and Wanda Jean Haynes Midkiff of the home; a sister and brother-in-law, Vickie and Darryl Williams of Mount Airy; her paternal grandmother, Maggie Midkiff of Mount Airy; a special uncle, Tommy Haynes of Mount Airy; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and special friends, Tony Bondurant and William Wood, both of Mount Airy. Miss Midkiff was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Raymond Midkiff; and maternal grandparents, Tom and Cassie Haynes. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 20, 2010, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Elmo Hiatt officiating. Burial will follow in the Peoples Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030. The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, especially Tina Leonard and Crystal Peele, for their care given to Miss Midkiff during her illness and to the staff of Surry County Senior Services and Tonya Moore.
