Mr. Travis Ray Quesinberry, 34, of 118 Sportsman Trail, Mount Airy, passed away Sunday evening, January 18, 2009, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mr. Quesinberry was born May 7, 1974, in Surry County, to Larry Ray and Rhonda Robertson Quesinberry. Travis graduated from North Surry High School in 1992. He worked as a construction lineman at Surry Telephone Membership Corporation for several years and attended New Charity Baptist Church. His love of life, the outdoors, and his love of Jesus Christ will be long remembered by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Scarlett Holt Quesinberry of the home; a daughter, Kyndal Dianne Quesinberry of the home; a son, Dalton Ray Quesinberry of the home; his parents, Larry Ray and Rhonda Robertson Quesinberry of Mount Airy; a brother and sister-in-law, Brad and Misty Quesinberry of Ararat; his father-in-law, Bobby Holt of Mount Airy; and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lori and Brad Gammons of Mount Airy. Mr. Quesinberry was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Rufus Columbus Robertson and Daisy Viola Marion Robertson Hembree Smith; his paternal grandparents, Rupert Ray "Crick" and Ida Mae Hutson Quesinberry; and his mother-in-law, Linda Dianne Walker Holt. The funeral service will be held Thursday, January 22, 2009, at 2:00 PM at Piney Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Hank Robertson, the Rev. Ron Hall, and the Rev. Dale Bass officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Piney Grove Baptist Church. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions can be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, especially Stephanie Tilley, for their love, care, and support during Travis' illness.
