Tressie Ann Childress

Mrs. Tressie Ann Childress, 46, of Mt. Airy passed away Thursday, July 4, 2019 at Northern Hospital of Surry County.  She was born in McDowell County, WV on December 14, 1972 to Tommy Lambert and Vickie Hall Lambert.  Mrs. Childress was known for her creativeness and outgoing personality.  She owned and operated the Cupcake Tree in Mt. Airy.  Mrs. Childress was a loving wife, mother, daughter, and a proud grandmother.  She enjoyed life and always greeted you with a smile.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Childress will be lovingly remembered by her husband James Childress; her children, Jennifer Savanah Childress and fiancé Andrew Edmonds, and James Childress, Jr. and fiancée Chelsea Arthur; a brother, James Lambert and wife Shawna; sisters Tonya Findley and husband Daniel, and Misty Crabtree and husband Daniel; grandchildren, Malachi Childress, Paislee Childress, Mia Edmonds and Clay Edmonds.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with officiating Rev. Jeff Wall.  Burial will follow at the Peoples Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:30 PM until the time of the service.  Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
