Treva Mae Poe Johnson passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, January 10th, 2021. Treva was born on September 15th, 1931 in Staley, NC. As a Member of Dobson First Baptist Church, Treva lived a life full of love, dedicating her life to caring for others. She was an avid gardener, seamstress and cook, but always happy as long as she was busy. More than anything, Treva enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She could often be found beside her husband of 64 years and enjoyed the many Octobers spent at the beach.
Treva was preceded in death by her parents, William Jesse Poe Sr. & Esther Edwards Poe; siblings, Boyd Poe, Irene Duncan, & Bill Poe.
Treva is survived by her husband, H. Clyde Johnson of Dobson; daughter Sharon J. Allen (David) of Liberty, NC; granddaughter Laura A. Serratos (Daniel) of Apex, NC; and sister Marie Bare of Pleasant Garden, NC. Viewing for Mrs. Johnson will be Wednesday, January 13, 2021 from 1-4:00 P.M. at Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 14 2021 in Gilmore Memorial Park, 6500 Liberty Road, Julian NC., with Pastor Cory Honeycutt and Reverend Chris Phelps officiating. Due to current Covid restrictions, we ask that everyone please wear masks, observe social distancing and refrain from hugging and handshaking.
