Trudie Ethel Gunter Jones

Mrs. Trudie Ethel Gunter Jones, age 84 of King, wife of sixty-three years to Mr. Robert Jones, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Jones was born in Surry County, October 4, 1922 to Andrew and Lucy Welch Gunter. She was such a loving person and will be dearly missed by all her family and friends. Mrs. Jones was a member of Truway Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Robert Jones of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Lena Faye and Dannie Lee Smith of King; a son and daughter-in-law, Calvin and Hilda Jones of Dobson; eight grandchildren; three step grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; fourteen step great grandchildren; a great-great grandchild and three step great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by sisters, Naomi Edwards, Alice Stewart and Peggy Ann Gunter; and by brothers, Rufus Gunter and Yancy Gunter. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, May 18, 2007 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Rev. Daryl Price and Rev. Eugene Brinkley. Burial will follow in Truway Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday night from 7:00 to 9:00 at the funeral home.
