Vada Mozelle Cole Smith

Mrs. Vada Mozelle Cole Smith, age 87of Mount Airy, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning March 11, 2025, at Surry Community Health and Rehabilitation Center in Mount Airy. She was born April 15, 1937, in Carroll County to the late Calvin Young Cole and Viola Ellen Quesenberry Cole. She retired from Hospital Pharmacy after many years of dedicated service. Left to cherish her memory are her son, William Anthony “Tony” Smith; granddaughter, Shelly and Andy Hodges, step granddaughter, Jennifer Boyd; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce Hein, Marie Snow, Carol and Odell Sumner, and Sharon and Mike McFarland; a brother and sister-in-law, Dewey and Mary Cole; and several other family and friends. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, William Leonard “Bill” Smith; grandson, Joshua Cole Smith; sisters, Norma Stockner and Pearl Hein; and brothers, Lonnie Cole and Claude Cole. The family will have a celebration for Mrs. Smith at a later time. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
