Vaudie Opal Holder Simmons

Mrs. Vaudie Opal Holder Simmons age 81 of 210 Shropshire Lane, Mt. Airy, NC widow of Mr. James Garfield Simmons passed away Thursday morning, November 15, 2007 at her home. She was born August 18, 1926 in Surry County, NC to the late Joseph Arnold and Lala Beamer Holder. Mr. Simmons was a homemaker and was of the Baptist Faith Surviving are a son, Jerry C. Simmons of the home, two grandchildren, Lynn Simmons, McGrady, NC and James David Simmons, North Wilkesboro, NC, three great grandchildren, and two brothers, and sisters-in-law, Tommy and Mattie Holder, Bobby and Sally Holder all of Mt. Airy, NC. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Simmons was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Kay Simmons, two sons, Jimmy Simmons and Dennis David Simmons, two sisters, Linda Hutchens, Lillian Holder and three brothers, Curry Holder, Gray Holder and Ed Holder. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, November 17, 2007 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel of Mt. Airy. Burial will follow in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 12:30 until time of the service at Moody Funeral Home.
