Vera Irene Norman

Miss Vera Irene Norman, 79, of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2011, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Miss Norman was born June 18, 1931, in Grayson County, VA, to Clemons and Flora Norman. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Mount Airy. She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Osby and Jan Norman of Woodlawn, VA; a niece, Barbara "Bobbie" Hinton of Mount Airy; two nephews, Foster Norman and his wife, Charlene, of Wilmington and Michael Norman of Woodlawn, VA; three great nieces, Mary Norman, Courtney Norman, and Rebekah Chandler; and three great nephews, Jacob Hinton, Rennie Norman, and Jason Norman. In addition to her parents, Miss Norman was preceded in death by two sisters, Vergie Davis and Gladys Easter; and a niece, Rebecca Easter. The funeral service will be held Sunday, January 9, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Fellowship Baptist Church, with the Rev. Chris Benfield officiating. Burial will be at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.
