Verlie Elmer "Buddy" Holland

Mr. Verlie Elmer “Buddy” Holland Jr., age 84, of Dobson, NC passed away Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Genesis Health Care in Sparta. He was born December 10, 1936 in Statesville, NC to the late Verlie Elmer Holland Sr. and the late Edith Mae Cline Holland. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Gloria Jeanne Holland; son, Jonathan Rhyne Holland; daughter-in-law Veena Berlynne Copeland; grandchildren, Anna Victora Holland, Garion McCall Holland and Mary Aleese Copeland; sister, Ann McGarr; brothers, Johnny Holland and Phillip Holland. Mr. Holland was a member of Salem Baptist Church, served in the United States Army as a Staff Sergeant and worked at the Kennedy Space Center. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 7, 2021 from 10:00-11:00 AM at Salem Baptist Church. Services will be at 11:00 AM in the church with Dr. David Powell officiating. Burial service with military honors will follow in the church cemetery. Moody-Davis Funeral Service is serving the Holland family.
