Verna Lee Bowman Wagoner

Mrs. Verna Lee Bowman Wagoner, age 87, of Mount Airy passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Carroll County, Virginia on March 9, 1934, to the late John Ray and Goldie Bolt Bowman.  Mrs. Wagoner was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.  She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.  She is survived by a daughter, Karen Wagoner Montgomery; grandchildren, Coy Montgomery, Sadie Montgomery; a sister, Evelyn Wright; along with several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her patents, Mrs. Wagoner was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Ray “Skinny” Wagoner; a grandson, Ty Montgomery; an infant daughter, Janice Lynn Wagoner; a sister, Mary Lou Mundy; and a brother, Ivan Linwood Bowman.  A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 4, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Skyline Memory Gardens with the Rev. Ralph Sproles officiating.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
