Vernell Joyce Beasley

Mrs. Vernell Joyce Beasley, 84, of Mount Airy, passed away Monday, December 15, 2008, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Beasley was born August 22, 1924, in Surry County, to the late William Vester and Ida Inman Joyce. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Mount Airy. She is survived by her husband, Paul Beasley; daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Mike Orders of Hildebran; grandsons, John Orders and Michael Orders, Jr.; a sister, Rachel Jennings of Martinsville, VA; and three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Delmar and Sue Joyce and Herbert and Lilly Mae Joyce, all of Mount Airy, and Robert Joyce of Winston-Salem. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Beasley was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Potts; and a brother, Raymond Joyce. The funeral service will be held Thursday, December 18, 2008, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by Dr. Roger B. Gilbert, and burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 17, 2008, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
