Vernon Lee Bowman

Vernon Lee Bowman, age 85 of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away Saturday, July 31, 2021, at his home. He was born in Patrick County to the late Delbert Bowman and Rezuba Puckett Bowman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Ruth Bowman; two sisters, Sallie Gibson, Sarah Scott; one brother, Euel Bowman; two half-brothers, Donnie and Tommie Bowman; a step daughter, Marilyn Bowman; and two brothers, Robert and Glenn Bowman.

Surviving is his wife of 35 years, Janice Sue Bowman of the home; four sons, Vernon Lee Grindstaff, Jerry Lee Bowman, Donald Lee Grindstaff, Roger Gibson; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; stepdaughter, Margie Lewallon; three half-sisters, Susie Page, Sally Wagoner,one daughter, Rezuba Smith; one half-brother, Johnnie Bowman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 5, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Michael Byrd officiating. Burial will follow in the Puckett Family Cemetery in Meadows of Dan. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 PM to 8 PM at the funeral home.
