Vernon Dallas Lyon

       Mr. Vernon Dallas Lyon, age 67 of Stuart, Virginia, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2018, at Sovah Health of Martinsville.  He was born in Patrick County on August 6, 1950, to Dallas and Violet Pendleton Lyon.  In addition to his father, Mr. Lyon was preceded in death by one brother, Michael Lyon. He was a graduate of Stuart High School, a lifelong musician, who was a drummer and singer with many bands over the years. He will be remembered as a happy spirit and for his strong faith in God.

       Mr. Lyon is survived by his mother, Violet Pendleton Lyon; a brother and sister-in-law, Maurice and Pat Lyon; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Carol Taylor, Dianne and Eddie Hunt, and Betty Jane ”BJ” Stowe, all of Stuart; several aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews; cousins and friends.

       Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 4, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Robert Forrest officiating. Burial to follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home and at others times at the home of his brother, located at 454 Ashby Drive in Stuart.  Memorials may be made to the Vernon Lyon Memorial Fund, c/o of Moody Funeral Services Inc., P.O.
