Mrs. Verona Holder Branscome, 75, of Wilmington, formerly of Mount Airy, passed away Thursday, September 16, 2010, at Britthaven of North Chase. Mrs. Branscome was born April 14, 1935, in Surry County, to the late Everett Franklin and Synester "Sina" Flippin Holder. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Branscome is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Frankie Wilson of Wilmington; two grandchildren, Christopher Wilson and Corey Wilson, both of Wilmington; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Joyce and Richard Cooke of Moneta, VA, Frances and Dale Hawks of Cana, VA, Lela and Gary McCaskill of Randleman, and Gail Holder of Elkin; and three brothers and sisters-in-law, Walter and Betty Holder of Mount Airy, Gordon and Dianne Holder of Lowgap, and Jim and Freda Holder of Mount Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Branscome was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Branscome; and a brother, Karalyn Holder. A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 18, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Ivy Green Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Alton Bledsoe officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, September 17, 2010, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
