Verona Kathryn Coe Reece

Ms. Verona Kathryn Coe Reece, 83, of 148 Janice Lane, Cana, VA, passed away Wednesday morning, March 2, 2011, at her home. She was born August 25, 1927, in Surry County, to the late Brady Elmer and Florence Ethel Moore Coe. She retired from Renfro Corporation and was a member of Westview Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Beverly Wilcox of Cana, VA, and Marilyn and Fred Martin of Dugspur, VA; a son, Anthony Dale Reece of the home; five grandchildren, Crystal Dawn Casstevens of Boonville, Kevin Phillips of Boonville, Brigette Easter of Mount Airy, Preston Martin of Hillsville, VA, and Shanda Morris of Durham; seven great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Rita and Herman Leftwich of Cana, VA; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Hylton and Betty Coe of Ridgeway, VA, and Winfred and Mildred Coe of Salisbury. In addition to her parents, Ms. Reece was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Ann Easter; a grandson, Farrell Easter; and two brothers, Melvin Coe and Joe Thomas Coe. The funeral service will be held Friday, March 4, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Westview Baptist Church, with the Rev. Darren Slate officiating. Burial will follow in the Flat Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday at Westview Baptist Church from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.
