Versie Mae Forrest Key

Mrs. Versie Mae Key, 76, of Winston Salem, NC, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2013. She was the daughter of the late Lacy Baird Forrest and Gracie Draughn Forrest of Mount Airy, NC. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, James E. (Jim) Key; one son, Robert William Key (wife) T.J.) Wake Forest, NC; one daughter, Cynthia (Cindy) Raye Key, Raleigh, NC.; two grandsons Adam (wife, Erin) Laurel Springs, NC, Austin (wife, Jennie), Raleigh, NC and her brother Kenneth Ray Forrest (wife, Donna) also of Raleigh, NC. Versie was a graduate of Flat Rock High School, Mount Airy, NC. She spent the major part of her life caring about and in support of others. The last four years of her life were spent struggling with health issues, and she was faithful to the Lord all through her life. She was a faithful member of Pfafftown Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. The family will receive visitors at Pfafftown Baptist Church from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday evening April 8. The funeral service will be conducted at Pfafftown Baptist Church at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 9, by Reverend Thomas Bounds, pastor of the church, and Reverend Doug Rights former pastor of Olive Moravian Church. Burial will follow at the Indian Grove Family Cemetery, Mount Airy, NC. at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Bounds officiating. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston Salem, NC. 27103.
