Vetrus Willard

Mrs. Vetrus Nile Nester Willard “Nanny B”, age 87 of Stuart, passed away Monday, June 7, 2021, at Laurel Meadows Nursing Home in Laurel Fork.  She was born in Carroll County on March 30, 1934, to the late Alvah and Recie Spangler Nester.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Willard was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Reed Willard; a daughter, Janet Leath; and a son, Larry Willard.  She was a member of Green Mountain Baptist Church.  She will be remembered for her great love of her children and animals.         Mrs. Willard is survived by four children, Linford Willard and wife, Cricket of Meadows of Dan, Donald Willard and wife, Wanda of Meadows of Dan, Brenda Law and husband, John of Stuart, Patricia Goad of Laurel Fork; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.         A graveside service will be held Friday, June 11, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. in the Nester Family Cemetery in Laurel Fork with Pastor Howard Nester officiating.  Mrs. Willard will lie in state at the funeral home on Thursday, June 10th, from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the T and B.
