Vickie Jean Brooks

Mrs. Vickie Jean Coalson Brooks, 67, of Mt. Airy passed away at her home on Saturday afternoon, May 9, 2020.  She was born in Surry County on March 20, 1953 to the late William E. and Osie Atkins Coalson.  Mrs. Brooks was a loving homemaker who will be dearly missed by all her family and many friends.  She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Leonard Ray Brooks; a daughter, Felicia Brooks Tolbert; a son, Michael Brooks; two precious grandchildren whom she adored, Emily Brooks and Andrew Brooks; four sisters, Mary Faye Ramey, JoAnn Bryant, Donna Laster, and Theresa Crouse; two brothers and a sisters-in-law, Jay and Frances Coalson, Dale and Sara Coalson; and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brooks was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Shirley Jean Brooks; a brother, Edward Coalson; and three brothers-in-law, Joe Bryant, Jimmy Ramey, and Larry Laster.  Due to the limitations of numbers for public gatherings at this time (COVID-19), a private graveside service will be held at Laurel Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.  Moody Funeral Services of Mount Airy is serving the Brooks Family.
