Vickie Lynn Durham Hodges

Mrs. Vickie Lynn Durham Hodges, 52, of 2730 Haystack Road, Mount Airy, passed away Thursday afternoon, December 31, 2009. Mrs. Hodges was born December 18, 1957, in Alamance County, the daughter of the late James Daniel and Mattie White Durham. Vickie was a professional land surveyor for several years, serving North Carolina and Virginia, and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Sarah Hodges of Mount Airy; a stepdaughter and her husband, Audrey and Tim Simpson of Mount Airy; a sister and brother-in-law, Lisa and Mark Anderson of Mount Airy; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Danny and Tina Durham of North Augusta, SC, and Larry James Durham of Winston-Salem; a niece, Rebecca Durham of Mount Airy; two nephews, Greg Durham of Pilot Mountain and Jordan Anderson of Mount Airy; a great niece, Riley Hawks of Mount Airy; and a special friend, Lou Ann Foutz of Rural Hall. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hodges was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Dale "Dicky" Hodges. The funeral service will be held Sunday, January 3, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Oak Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Alton Bledsoe and the Rev. David Burgess officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Oak Grove Baptist Church.
