Vickie Ann Riggs Wilson

Mrs. Vickie Ann Riggs Wilson, 56, of Mount Airy, passed away Friday, August 18, 2017, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Wilson was born August 2, 1961, in Surry County, one of three daughters born to Bobby Lee and Dorothy Johnson Riggs. Vickie worked many years at Spencer’s Inc. and Ararat Rock Products Company. She was a dedicated member of Community Baptist Church as long as her health permitted, and she loved singing songs about her Lord and Savior when attending church. She is survived by her husband, Timothy Lawrence Wilson of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Randy Robertson of Mount Airy; two granddaughters, Maggie Robertson and Ellie Robertson, both of Mount Airy; her mother, Dorothy Johnson Riggs of Mount Airy; a sister and brother-in-law, Jan and Johnny Carpenter of Mount Airy; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Libby and Bruce Barker of Winston-Salem; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her father, Bobby Lee Riggs; a sister, Brenda Gail Riggs Thomas; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lawrence and Vernell Wilson. The funeral service will be held Monday, August 21, 2017, at 11:00 AM at Community Baptist Church, with the Rev. Kenneth Jessup officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, where her body will remain until carried to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes before the funeral service. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Moody Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1288, Mount Airy, NC 27030, to assist the family with the funeral expenses.
