Victor John Lewis

Mr. Victor John Lewis Age 86 of 1297 Galax Trail Mt. Airy, widower of Mrs. Stella May Marion Lewis passed away Saturday May 26, 2007 at Twelve Oaks Retirement Home in Mt. Airy. Mr. Lewis was born January 25, 1921 in Surry County to the late John Samuel and Ivory Marion Lewis, he was retired from Proctor Silex , was a farmer and member of Piney Grove Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law Ivey Jean and Russell Atkins of Ararat, NC. and Irene and Bill Joe Woodruff of Mt. Airy, four sons and daughters-in-law Johnny and Gaynell Lewis of Ararat, NC., Lonnie and Pam Lewis of Dobson, Arnold and Debbie Lewis of Byron, GA. and Marty Lewis of Dobson, thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, two brothers and sisters-in-law Reuben and Lucy Mae Lewis and Delmar and Juanita Lewis all of Mt. Airy, one sister and brother-in-law Lola Ivagene and Edward Cave of Dobson, step sister and spouse Betty and Columbus Payne of Booneville In addition to his wife and parents Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by a son Archie Lewis, his step mother Lela Coe Lewis, two sisters Alma Atkins and Mary Emma Slawter and by two brothers Howard Lewis and Friel Lewis. Funeral services will be held Monday May 28, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at Piney Grove Baptist Church with services conducted by Rev. Kermit Gray, Rev. Tim Vanhoy, Rev. Mitchell Robertson and Rev. Mitchell Pruitt with burial to follow in the church cemetery with full military rites conducted by the V.F.W. Memorial Honor Guard Mt. Airy Post 2019 and Pilot Mountain Post # 9436. The family will receive friends Sunday night 7 to 9 P.M. at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy, NC. The family would like to express a special thanks to Twelve Oaks, Dr. Kerley and Mountain Valley Hospice.
