Vida Thomas Meredith Jones Baughan

Mrs. Vida Thomas Meredith Jones Baughan, 83, of Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, May 30, 2010, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Baughan was born July 12, 1926, in Carroll County, VA, to Clyde and Myrtle Thomas Meredith. She retired from Proctor-Silex Inc. and was a member of Midway Baptist Church. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Linda Jones of Lambsburg, VA; two grandchildren, David Jones and his wife, Annette, of Mount Airy and Gretchan Culler of King; four great-grandchildren, Danielle Jones, Miranda Jones, Allison Culler, and Elizabeth Culler; a sister and brother-in-law, Virgie and James Rorer of Flint, MI; a brother and sister-in-law, Grant and Mavis Meredith of Fancy Gap, VA; several nieces and nephews; and a special and dear friend, Katherine Edwards. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Baughan was preceded in death by her first husband, Jess Jones; her second husband, Harvey Baughan; a son, Thomas Baughan; a sister, Virginia Rogers; and a brother, George Meredith. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at Midway Baptist Church, with the Rev. Larry Phillips and the Rev. Richard Buffkin officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
