Viola Ellen Dawson Jones

Mrs. Viola Ellen "Porkey" Dawson Jones, 57, of 1841 Meadowbrook Road, Cana, VA, passed away Tuesday morning, July 14, 2009, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Jones was born November 6, 1951, in Carroll County, VA, to Josie Ellen Pedigo McGee and the late Theodore Dalfred "Ted" Dawson. She was a cashier at Wal-Mart in Galax, VA, and attended Crooked Oak Moravian Church. She is survived by her husband, Timothy Edward Jones of the home; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Christopher Lee and Angela Jones of Cana, VA, and Justin Corey Jones of the home; a grandson, Cody Lee Jones of Cana, VA; a stepgrandson, Brandon Jacob Davis of Cana, VA; a step-great-grandson, Ethen Jacob Davis; her mother and stepfather, Ellen and T.R. McGee of Cana, VA; a sister and brother-in-law, Kim and Joe Hall of Cana, VA; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Nelson and Janie Dawson and Ted and Debbie Dawson, all of Cana, VA, and Mark and Sheila Smith of Mount Airy; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Friday, July 17, 2009, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Gary Easter and Rev. James Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the The Jesse Jones Family Cemetery in Cana, VA. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
