Virgie Blanche Hodges Key

Mrs. Virgie Blanche Hodges Key, Age 93 of 359 South Franklin Rd. Mt. Airy, NC widow of the late Webb Key passed away Wednesday night May 2, 2007 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston Salem. Mrs. Key was born April 26, 1914 in Franklin County, VA. to the late Perry and Nannie Meeks Hodges she was retired from Spencer Incorporated and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law Dorothy "Dot" and Ray Riggs and Peggy and Calvin Shuskey all of Mt. Airy, one son Phil Key of the home, four grandchildren and spouses Michael and Susan Parsons, Tim and Dara Parsons, Greg Shuskey and Kim and Ron Matthews, one step grandson and spouse Dennis and Janet Riggs, three great grandchildren D. H. and Chasity Handy, Brittany Parsons and Allison Parsons, one step great grandson and spouse Dickie and Katie Riggs and one sister Dillard Custer of Martinsville, VA. In addition to her husband and parents Mrs. Key was preceded in death by three sisters Ruth Fulk, Ann Rutherford and Fannie Mills and by a brother Habron Hodges. Funeral services will be held Saturday May 5, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at Salem Baptist Church with services conducted by Rev. Bobby Lewis with burial to follow in the Union Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday night 7 to 9 P.M. at Salem Baptist Church, Rockford Rd. Dobson, NC. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the donors choice. Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy will be assisting the Key Family.
